Treat your loved one to the luxury of beautiful yarn.
AIR is something extraordinary—an ultra soft, durable, pill-resistant yarn that is lighter and warmer than 100% cashmere. AIR features 40% of down from the brushtail possum fiber, combined with 40% cashmere and 20% mulberry silk. AIR is our most luxurious yarn.
Zealana Air – a light as a feather blend of cashmere, possum down, and silk, in beautiful solids ($24.00/25g), and now available in beautiful hand-dyed Koigu colourways ($59.95/50g).
25g is enough to knit a beret or pair of fingerless mitts, while 50g is enough for a shoulder warmer, scarf, or generous cowl. 3-4 balls makes this lovely Lacy Vest.
As the days get shorter, and knitting time becomes more limited, super bulky yarn and needles make for quick gifts!
The Arboreal Cowl, available as a free Ravelry download, uses just 106 yards of super bulky yarn and can be knit in a variety of yarns. We love it in Swagger (1 skein for $26.50) or in Borealis knit together with 2 strands of Kidsilk Haze (2 x $15.95) for amazing loft and depth of colour. The pattern also suggests holding 3 strands of worsted weight together to achieve the same gauge.
Another great free cowl pattern from Tante Ehm on Ravelry, Aujourd’hui showcases the colour and texture of a beautiful hand-dyed super bulky yarn. Swagger, Bulky, Andes, Outer, Twinkle or Drops Eskimo, or Mega (all in store) are great choices for this cowl.
We’re very excited to have been given permission by Kate Davies to use her Peerie Flooers design in our fair-isle/stranded knitting hat class. The class fee of $120 includes the pattern and yarn (Rowan Fine Tweed) required to complete the hat. Please bring a 16″ circular needle in a 3mm size as well.
Class size is limited to 6 students, please contact us to register.
Basic-Intermediate knitting skills are required for this class.

Drops Big Delight has arrived in the store and we’re excited to see this soft and feltable self-striping wool. As always, Drops has lots of free patterns available on their website, everything from 1 ball hats to stunning garments and afghans.
Hey Knitters? Does anyone want to do a sweater knit along? Three of us are doing the Stonecutters Cardigan. Does anyone want to do a knitalong? Let me know soon if you are interested so I can order more yarn in the Blackstone tweed ($9.95/50gm) colour of your choice.
Other yarn options are available for other budgets, animal fibre sensitivities, and wash-ability. Just let us know and we can suggest some alternatives.
A 10% discount for purchase of the entire yarn needed for this project applies. I can also ship the yarn if people wish to knit with us remotely. We can share on the blog and Ravelry group.
