Crispy leaves are underfoot! Gear up with these sweet wristwarmers before you start your yard work. Remember our Rowan Fine Art is on a crazy sale, now $20.97 (was ($29.95)! One hank of it will be more than enough for a pair, and leave you with lots of extra too. Available at both stores – check them out now!
And on to the free patterns:
Harvest Hands: The hand-painted Fine Art will make this wristwarmer pop!
Krokus/Crocus: The cute pin tucks will stand out even more with a contrast yarn. Two hanks of the Fine Art will get you three pairs of wristwarmers. Stella also has a great pin tuck tutorial with loads of pictures.
Onion Market: A slightly more challenging lace pattern reminiscent of onions.
Cowls are great, quick knits that use less yarn than scarves. Here are some of my favourite patterns, all of which would looks fantastic with a couple of hanks of Rowan Fine Art, which are currently on sale at both our stores!
Honey uses a simple stitch that creates a waffle pattern, perfect for showing off the hand-painted colours of Fine Art.
As the days get shorter, and knitting time becomes more limited, super bulky yarn and needles make for quick gifts!
The Arboreal Cowl, available as a free Ravelry download, uses just 106 yards of super bulky yarn and can be knit in a variety of yarns. We love it in Swagger (1 skein for $26.50) or in Borealis knit together with 2 strands of Kidsilk Haze (2 x $15.95) for amazing loft and depth of colour. The pattern also suggests holding 3 strands of worsted weight together to achieve the same gauge.
