Favourite Scarves for Men

Storm warnings, brief sunshine and double rainbows just outside the Commercial store made me think of my loved ones, and how to keep their necks warm. Here is a round up of some beautiful scarves for men on Ravelry.

Shifting Sands: a simple repeating pattern that shows off hand-dyed colours handsomely. My suggested yarn listed below.

  • SandnesGarn Alpakka – so soft and warm! Medium brown is a great colour that goes with almost everything, too.
  • Swans Island Fingering – the natural indigo colours would be so SO lovely in this pattern. A hank would be just enough for a skinnier scarf.

Wheat: a great beginner pattern by local design and pattern makers Tin Can Knits, part of their awesome learn-to-knit series, The Simple Collection.

  • O Wool Local – two hanks should be more than enough for one scarf. Try a dark green that brings to mind the pine forests of BC.
  • Berroco Ultra Alpaca – a classic… you can’t go wrong with this alpaca-wool blend. Warm and soft and perfect to drape around your loved one’s neck this winter.
